"My husband and I had a fantastic day with Julia. She customized our tour to suit our likes and tastes. We started out intending to have a BBQ tour. Along the way, we decided we wanted to end with some sweets. Julia changed up the plan with ease. She is very knowledgeable on local food and history. You can’t go wrong with a tour with her."
– travelgirlKentucky · Tripadvisor"We had a great Sweets for the Sweet (dessert tour) on Friday, January 24th with Julia. This was to celebrate my birthday, and it was AWESOME! The desserts were varied, the discussions with the owners were so engaging, and Julia is a great informative tour guide - we learned alot about San Antonio, in addition to become stuffed with delectable desserts."
– Suanne · Tripadvisor"Julia is a renowned food writer and culinary teacher who does a superb food tour. She has an insiders knowledge of San Antonio and is a delightful person to spend an evening getting to know. We toured The Pearl dining at some of the outstanding eateries in the district while getting a history of San Antonio, The Riverwalk and The Pearl. Outstanding evening. She gave us great restaurant suggestions for the remainder of our stay as well as tips on places to see and things to do. We will be back and will definitely book another tour with her."
– Kris S. · Tripadvisor"Our family, ages 68 through 8 had the pleasure of a guided walk with Julia, the food chick herself, along with Museum Reach area of the River Walk. We learned so much about the history of the Pearl area, the unique San Antonio River, and the beautiful art installations along the river. If you want the inside story, this chick is your gal. Who knew the San Antonio River has a 9 foot fall to allow for unimpeded traffic up and down the river. We even had the pleasure of meeting the Lock Master. Family food tour with Julia will be our next adventure!"
