A Top Rated Food Experience!

Great food and history tour

"Our group of 6 women had a great time on the progressive dinner stroll! Julia was very helpful in every step of the planning and even sent a lengthy list of suggestions for places to eat in San Antonio. The tour provided delicious food stops in the Pearl, and we also got a bonus walk in the Grotto which was beautiful and interesting! Really enjoyed our evening."

Perfect day customized for us

"My husband and I had a fantastic day with Julia. She customized our tour to suit our likes and tastes. We started out intending to have a BBQ tour. Along the way, we decided we wanted to end with some sweets. Julia changed up the plan with ease. She is very knowledgeable on local food and history. You can’t go wrong with a tour with her."

Sweets for the Sweet Dessert Tour - WOW!

"We had a great Sweets for the Sweet (dessert tour) on Friday, January 24th with Julia. This was to celebrate my birthday, and it was AWESOME! The desserts were varied, the discussions with the owners were so engaging, and Julia is a great informative tour guide - we learned alot about San Antonio, in addition to become stuffed with delectable desserts."

A food and San Antonio enthusiasts progressive dinner.

"Julia is a renowned food writer and culinary teacher who does a superb food tour. She has an insiders knowledge of San Antonio and is a delightful person to spend an evening getting to know. We toured The Pearl dining at some of the outstanding eateries in the district while getting a history of San Antonio, The Riverwalk and The Pearl. Outstanding evening. She gave us great restaurant suggestions for the remainder of our stay as well as tips on places to see and things to do. We will be back and will definitely book another tour with her."

Food is just one thing this chick knows about - HIGHLY RECOMMEND

"Our family, ages 68 through 8 had the pleasure of a guided walk with Julia, the food chick herself, along with Museum Reach area of the River Walk. We learned so much about the history of the Pearl area, the unique San Antonio River, and the beautiful art installations along the river. If you want the inside story, this chick is your gal. Who knew the San Antonio River has a 9 foot fall to allow for unimpeded traffic up and down the river. We even had the pleasure of meeting the Lock Master. Family food tour with Julia will be our next adventure!"

Not to be missed!

"We had the pleasure of Food Chick's company for one evening and then another whole day! Not only is Julia Celeste knowledgeable when it comes to the area, the food and the chefs, she is a delight to be with: witty, smart as a whip, funny and radiantly cheerful. We sampled barbecue, Tex Mex, oysters, beer, you name it! We met several chefs, including one who's been on TV! We got a lot of sight-seeing in since Julia took us all over and to many interesting places that we would not have visited on our own. For our first visit to San Antonio, Julia made it memorable. There are no negatives to report; keep up the good work, Juila!"

Great way to start our San Antonio visit

"After reading great reviews here, I was excited to book a Food Chick tour. The Progressive Dinner Stroll (Pearl District) was the perfect way to start our trip. Every restaurant we visited treated us like VIP's, it is clear that Julia has great relationships with the chefs, owners and front of house teams. She exudes a love of San Antonio and the amazing food & culture. She was kind enough to go "above and beyond" and recommend additional places for us to visit while we were in town!"
